The Restructuring and Insolvency team at Baker Tilly in the British Virgin Islands is delighted to announce that Laurent Keeble-Buckle has been granted his Insolvency Practitioners Licence by the British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission which, together with further professional staff hiring, will build upon and strengthen the firm’s service offering.
Laurent joined the firm in November 2013 and brought with him almost 13 years’ experience of insolvency, asset tracing and investigative assignments in the corporate field Since arriving in the BVI, he has focussed on a number of high profile liquidations, both solvent and insolvent, involving hedge funds and high value litigation. Laurent’s experience has seen him manage cases in many international jurisdictions including in the UK, the Channel Islands, Russia, Dubai, the Caribbean, much of Europe and a number of African nations.
Following graduation, Laurent joined a big four accounting practice where he was involved in all forms of insolvency procedures along with carrying out a number of investigatory roles with the firm’s Forensic Services team and qualified as an accountant with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Commenting on the news, Head of Restructuring and Insolvency, Hadley Chilton said: “Laurent came to our firm with a highly-relevant skill set and has been very well-received by clients and professionals both here in the BVI and other jurisdictions. He is a very welcome addition to the senior management team at our firm. This is another important step in growing the capacity of our Restructuring and Insolvency team to meet demands including soft wind down and liquidation of mutual funds, restructurings in response to recent changes in laws in other jurisdictions and in respect of corporate rationalisation / streamlining and distressed or insolvent situations which often appear to have a background of shareholder and boardroom disputes or suspicions or fraudulent activity”.
