BVI Financial Services Commission Introduces Electronic Filing for Mutual Funds Returns

29 September 2009 - The BVI Financial Services Commission is pleased to announce the launch of full electronic filing for mutual funds annual returns. The online application is a secure environment that facilitates a more efficient filing of annual returns by BVI mutual funds, through their representatives, in order to provide the FSC with information on prudential and governance information and summary financial information. The new electronic reporting includes support for easier submissions for Segregated Portfolio Companies (SPCs) and umbrella structures with improved formatting and the ability to save entries for later submission.

The Return which was first launched in September, 2008, replaced the "Annual Mutual Fund Survey" and is due for submission before or by 15 October, 2009 for the reporting period ended 31 December, 2008. Please note that there is no need to re-submit manual or hard copy filings that were previously submitted to the Commission.  Guidance notes on the Annual Returns regime can be found on the FSC's website.
