Baker Tilly (BVI) Limited Forecasts Unprecedented Growth

Denis Murphy, Hadley Chilton and Andries DippenaarAfter months of negligible growth and close shaves for many, things are about to improve according to Hadley Chilton of Baker Tilly (BVI) Limited's Corporate Recovery and Insolvency Department.  Both onshore and offshore, people are bristling with enthusiasm for Movember again this year, an annual charity event to increase the awareness of men's health issues and in particular Prostate Cancer.  Prostate Cancer is the second largest killer cancer of males after lung cancer, despite having a 90% success rate of being treated successfully when diagnosed.

Last year's event was very successful and over USD10,000 was raised which funded prostate cancer screening in the British Virgin Islands and globally Movember raised total funds of over USD44 million during the 2009 campaign.  The funds raised in the BVI this year will be crucial in providing prostate screening in the BVI and raising awareness and support in respect of mental health issues.

Mo Bro.s may register early at the Tamarind Club on Sunday 31 October, where the very special experience of a traditional cut-throat razor shave will be available.  There will be fundraising events, starting on 1st Movember at the famous Dove Restaurant on Tortola and cul minating in a grand prize ceremony at the end of the month at Peg Leg's.  There is new BVI Movember 2010 merchandise including t-shirts and wristbands to allow people to proudly display their support.  Movember is facilitated by some very generous sponsors and the considerable efforts, ingenuity and commitment of participants and their donors.

Participants pay an entry fee and raise sponsorship money and if one fails to complete the month (or is persuaded to by their partner) an additional forfeit and disqualification applies.  Most partners agree to take the rough with the smooth and many are rather tickled by the idea.  The best types of moustache; be it a Magnum PI, a Dalí, a Ron Burgundy, or simply the most pitiful effort are feted at the grand prize ceremony at the end of the month.  Baker Tilly (BVI) Limited's Business Advisory Manager, Andries Dippenaar won the celebrity lookalike category last year imitating John Cleese with aplomb.

We are changing the face of men's health in the BVI, so to find out more and pledge your support and admiration, please contact bvimovember@gmail.com or visit BVI Movember 2010 on Facebook.
